Bus and Car Rider announcements

Dear Pleasant View Families,

Our bus rider students were sent home with badges they will use to scan on and off the bus. By scanning into the bus this will help monitor and track our students ensuring they are getting home safely. Please make sure they are bringing their badge back everyday.

Also, we allow students to be dropped off at 7:00 am in the morning at the gym entrance. We only allow one line to prevent students crossing through other cars. The line begins to back-up at 7:30 am. I encourage you to get to school early enough so that your child is seated ready to go at 7:45 am. Students entering the building after 7:45 will be marked as tardy.

Thank you,

Mr. P

Ms. Coppock

Please Welcome our new Kindergarten teacher Ms. Sarah Coppock to our school! #pantherstrong #ccsdtn
My name is Miss Sarah! I grew up outside of Philadelphia, but have been here for about 3 years now. I just graduated with my masters from Austin Peay State University. I have 2 Labrador retrievers, Riley and Brooks, and a fiancé named Alex. I am so excited to start this new journey with my dream job here at Pleasant View Elementary!

Food Distribution

We will have meal distributions this week on Wednesday, Jan. 6 and Friday, Jan. 8 from 10-12. Students will be provided with three days of meals (both breakfast and lunch) on these days.

For the week of Jan. 11, meal distributions will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 12 and Friday, Jan. 15 from 10-12. On Tuesday, Jan. 12, students will receive three days of meals and on Friday, Jan. 15, they will receive four days of meals.

Please remember that all meals are free to children 0-18 through the remainder of the 2020-21 school year.

School closure for COVID

Due to an increase in positive COVID-19 cases and exposure, Pleasant View Elementary School students will transition to virtual learning on Friday, Dec. 11 through Friday, Dec. 18.

In-person classes will resume on Tuesday, Jan. 5 when the second semester begins.

PVES will communicate with families about its academic instruction plans while students are all virtual.

The school’s student daycare and employee daycare will be closed on Friday, Dec. 11 while the building is disinfected. Our daycare staff will communicate with families about the hours of operation after Dec. 11.

There will be a food distribution on Wednesday, Dec. 16 from 9:30-11:30 a.m. Breakfast and lunch will be available for PVES students and any other children in the family, ages 0-18. Meals can be picked up around the back of the building at the cafeteria doors.

No extra-curricular activities, including sports, can be held at PVES through Christmas.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work through this together. If you have questions, please feel free to contact your child's teacher.

Food Distribution

The next two Wednesdays, December 9th and 16th, breakfast and lunch will be available for those students at home, and any other children in the family, ages 0-18. Pickup time is 9:30 - 11:30 around the back of the building at the cafeteria doors.

CDC Covid updates

The Tennessee Department of Health (TDOH) recently announced new allowable quarantine guidelines presented by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

Out of an abundance of caution and after consulting with our principals and school nurses, the Cheatham County School District will continue to follow the TDOH and CDC 14-day quarantine recommendations.

The new quarantine guidelines were recommended only if individuals could properly social distance and wear a face mask at all times while self-monitoring symptoms. There is no guarantee that these can be done at all times inside all of our buildings.

This decision means that all students and staff members who have been exposed to a person with a positive case of COVID-19 will continue to quarantine for 14 days if they have no symptoms during this 14-day period.

As always, we appreciate our employees, parents and students for all the sacrifices they are making as our community navigates the pandemic.

If you have any questions, please contact your child's school or school nurse.
